Police are investigating reports of a bloody street battle outside Perth's Barbes nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police are investigating after reports of a bloody street fight outside a nightclub, in which a witness said 50 people were involved.

While no officers or paramedics were called to the incident outside central Perth nightclub Barbes on Hay Street in the early hours of Saturday morning, five people later presented at Royal Perth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, police cordoned off an area outside the club and the nearby car park next to a TAB, where officers examined some temporary fences that had fallen at a construction site.

Forensic officers have been examining various blood trails on the pavement and street along with other items of interest that have been marked on the asphalt while taking photographs or bagging evidence.

Melissa Nightingable, who is homeless and was sleeping in her car behind the nearby Carlton Hotel when the fight broke out between 4 and 6 a.m., witnessed the fight.

“I was just trying to sleep in my car, it’s really hard being homeless… so I tried to hide so they wouldn’t know it was just me in my car and that’s when a group of them just went all out,” he said.

‘They started throwing stones and gravel at my car… (I thought) they were going to force their way in (and that they were going to) rape me or kill me or beat me.’

Nightingable said at least two people were injured out of about 50 fighters.
