Another elite school is facing scandal after explicit images of dozens of female students circulated online, leading to the arrest of a teenager.

Police are investigating after dozens of girls at Bacchus Marsh Grammar, northwest of Melbourne, reported fake AI nude images had been created and shared on social media.

Up to 50 students from Years 9 to 12 were affected by the graphic images, which were shared on Instagram and Snapchat.

The girls’ faces were used to generate the nude images, the school confirmed Tuesday.

A teenager was arrested over the incident, but Victoria Police confirmed he had been released pending further investigation.

“Officers have been informed that a number of images were sent to a person in the Melton area via an online platform on Friday 7 June,” a police statement read.

Police have arrested a teenager in connection with explicit images circulating online.

He was released pending further investigations.

Police continue to investigate the incident.

Bacchus Marsh Grammar principal Andrew Neal said the affected girls had their faces removed from social media before being groomed.

He called the incident “obscene.”

‘It’s awful. “It’s something that touches the hearts of students, especially girls growing up at this age,” Mr. Neal said, according to ABC.

“They should be able to learn and go about their business without this kind of nonsense.”

Neal said the school is currently working with police to remove the images.

They are also working to find the person responsible for the dissemination of the images.

Neal said that while it is believed the person responsible may be at the school, police are not ruling out other possibilities.

Police confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.

The school first learned of the images on Monday and said they are taking the matter “very seriously.”

“The well-being of our students and their families is paramount,” the school said in a statement.

Bacchus Marsh Grammar is offering support to affected students and their families, and Neal said the incident was not reflective of the school community.

He said the behavior should be addressed “as firmly as possible.”
