What was initially believed to be a series of fraudulent calls and text messages that disrupted a man’s vacation has led to him pocketing $1 million.
A Darwin man had ignored calls and texts from The Lott officials while on holiday after he unknowingly won $1.2 million in Saturday’s TattsLotto draw.
“I looked at the text message and immediately thought it was spam,” the man said.
‘I had one hell of a journey to get to my holiday destination and I wasn’t in the mood to let anything else ruin my holiday.
‘I almost didn’t let this get to me, but I logged into my online account with The Lott and verified my ticket. That’s when I saw that I had won $1.2 million!
“Let’s just say there was some explicit language here and there, colorful language that I won’t repeat.”
The man said his victory “hasn’t sunk in,” being one of four premiership winning entries across the country on Nov. 9.
He said he is eager to share his million-dollar winnings with his family.

The winning ticket was purchased on The Lott website, with the winning draw numbers 4519 being 30, 39, 6, 36, 5 and 43.
The supplementary numbers were 45 and 17.
