Another popular Australian brewery has decided to stop drinking alcohol for the last time.
Atomic Beer in Redfern, in Sydney’s central west, announced over the weekend that it had made its decision to close its doors permanently on Sunday with “great regret”.
The company has been operating as a brewery and tap room since it first opened in 2020.
The pub took to social media to announce its sudden closure and invite customers to one last round of beers on Father’s Day.
“It’s been an incredible few years and we can’t express how truly wonderful it has been to be a part of this community,” she said.
‘We’ve been through some pretty wild times and we can’t thank you enough for being a part of Atomic history.
“It’s been a pleasure, Redfern, to have you join us for a final toast and a nod to the good old days.”
The sad news was also confirmed on the brewery’s website.

The pub announced its closure with “great regret” and said the past few years had been “amazing” (pictured, a member of staff pouring an Atomic pint).
“Thank you for your support over the past few years and for bringing such a great vibe to Redfern!” he said.
‘We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again in the future!’
Shocked fans were quick to show their love for their favourite bar and express their grief over the closure.
“Best bar in Sydney,” wrote one.
Another added: “It’s very, very sad to hear this.”
A third commented: “A huge loss for Sydney. Atomic had the best beers and the best food and loads of character!”
Another asked if they would create beer from another place, but was disappointed by the answer.
“I’m afraid sorry, no more Atomic Beer will be produced,” Atomic Beer responded.
The closure of the premises also means that Atomic Beer will stop producing its drinks (pictured, portions of Atomic Beer pale ale)
The venue is one of many breweries that have recently collapsed due to the economy and high inflation, including Billson’s Brewery, which started 160 years ago.
The couple who ran Billson’s, Nathan and Felicity Cowan, also blamed the government’s high excise taxes on alcoholic drinks.
