A woman has a ‘new favorite campfire story’ after an Airbnb stay went wrong in Utah.
A TikTok user named Emily explained in a video that a “creepy” message seen by her friend on her Airbnb led them to flee the property and stay at a hotel.
The message, which arrived in the form of Scrabble letters arranged on a refrigerator, read: “GET OUT.”
“I packed my bags immediately,” Emily said in the clip.
The Rhode Island woman is among many Airbnb users who have shared their terrifying experiences at a rental property.

Emily revealed in the August 23 clip that “the vibes were off” once she and her friends arrived at the Salt Lake City rental.
Once they put their suitcases on the floor, they noticed that they were ‘a little dirty’ and smelled like cat urine.
Things got worse after Emily realized there were gardeners living in a ‘Basement area‘ from the house.
They then returned to the property’s Airbnb listing and found comments from two women who “felt a little weird” when they stayed at the home.
Emily explained that she and her group proceeded to get ready for dinner when the TikToker’s friend admitted that she felt like someone was listening to them.
Another friend insisted that there was nothing out of the ordinary and that the strange feelings were imaginary.
After returning home and hearing a thump under the floorboards, the women decided it was best to go to bed, she said.

The guests noticed that gardeners lived in a basement area of the house.
Emily said she had already put on her pajamas when her friend discovered the note that said “SALT” on the kitchen refrigerator.
By then, everyone was terrified and decided to leave, the TikToker explained.
No one called the police, she said, and Emily wrote in the comments section of her post that they were “too scared” to contact the property owners.
“I start calling hotels and asking, ‘What’s the closest one I can pay for without telling me in the middle of the night?'” Emily said.
The tenant and her friends saw a sign that said “Get out of the gym,” she said, and it made her never want to return to Salt Lake City.
The traveler said she contacted Airbnb and the company began investigating the situation while she was paying for a hotel room.

TikTok users were left freaking out and many commenters speculated about the rental.
“The smell of cat pee could indicate a meth lab (due to the ammonia). My theory is that the people downstairs started cooking meth and didn’t want you around,” one commenter wrote.
Emily responded, revealing that one of her friends also thought it was ammonia.
“I think the owners had bad intentions, whatever they may have been,” another commenter added.
“Them living in the basement would have been enough to make me leave.”
