Leanne Ward has revealed her favourite budget buys when it comes to losing weight

A dietician has revealed her ideal budget buys when it comes to losing weight – and you can get them all at your local Aldi.

Leanne Ward from Brisbane said: ‘Obviously fresh foods like fruit, vegetables, lean proteins, whole grains, legumes and healthy fats are the number one priority for health and fat loss.

‘But Sometimes packaged options can be just as good for busy people who want to achieve sustainable fat loss.

Leanne has coached hundreds of people with emotional eating, poor gut health and digestion issues.

She relies on several affordable fat loss edible products that can be found at Aldi.

The mom typically looks for ingredients she can use to take her meals to the next level, like Sichuan-style stir-fry kits with garlic or Asian-style salad kits that are a “great base for eating more vegetables,” but she often indulges in frozen dinners, too.

Leanne’s favorite fat-loss ready-made meals are lemon pepper chicken and sweet potato cottage cheese pie.

Marinated chicken breast fillets and salmon fillets are also “tasty proteins that support metabolism.”

Other proteins include Aldi’s packaged salmon and chickpeas with olive oil, garlic and rosemary.

The dietician also recommends tuna and split red beans or lentils, which are rich in protein and fiber for intestinal health.

Leanne revealed that wholemeal Lebanese bread and wholegrain mini wraps are easy meal bases that you can use to enhance your meals by adding meats, vegetables or legumes.

There are several ways to replace your usual snacks with low-calorie alternatives.

For example, Cobs Lightly Salted Popcorn is a high-fiber snack.

You can also drink lightly carbonated water or mango-passion fruit kombucha instead of sugary soft drinks.

When it comes to sweets, you don’t have to give up sugar entirely to reach your ideal weight.

Leanne recommends Aldi’s Mini Licks or Mini Utopia ice cream sticks.

“Ideally, it would be best not to do it, but it’s better than sugary ice cream,” she said in the comments. “Everything in moderation.”

You can also combine some frozen berries, which are rich in fiber and antioxidants, with Yoguri’s high-protein Greek-style yogurt.

The dietitian also eats Moser Roth’s Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Mini Bars because they are portion-controlled and low in calories.

Several moms applauded Leanne for sharing easy options for busy families and young professionals looking to eat healthier.

“We can reduce our family’s food spending to less than $600 every two weeks and still make balanced choices!” one mother told her husband in the comments.

“I love that lemon pepper chicken meal; there’s also a slow-cooked beef and sweet potato one in that range that’s delicious and has a similar nutritional profile,” another added.
