A British boy drowned after falling into a pool on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
First responders attempted to save the three-year-old girl after receiving an emergency call around noon today, but there was nothing they could do to save her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A routine police investigation has been launched into the tragedy, although there is nothing at this stage to suggest the young man’s death was anything other than accidental.
The country house where the drama occurred is located just off the Costa del Sol, between the coastal town of Torrox and the inland town of Sayalonga, in an area known as Pago de Montealegre.
It has not yet been confirmed whether she was vacationing at the house with her parents or living at the property, although a local report described it as the family home and said the young woman had two older brothers who attended a local school.
A Local-061 paramedic emergency helicopter was sent to the scene after police were called.

Informed sources said they were looking into the possibility that the girl fell into the pool after going outside without her mom and dad noticing.
The mayor of Torrox, Óscar Medina, described the girl’s death as a “tragic incident”, adding: “I offer my most sincere and deep condolences to the family on behalf of all the residents of the area.”
A spokesperson for the regional government’s emergency coordination center said: “A three-year-old girl died today in a swimming pool in the Torrox area, in the province of Malaga.
‘We received a call today at 12:04 p.m. alerting us that a minor had been recovered from a pool on a farm between Torrox and Sayalonga and attempts were being made to resuscitate her.
‘Emergency services were activated immediately. A helicopter was mobilized along with the Civil Guard, City Hall police and health professionals.
“They later confirmed that the girl had died without offering any further details about the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.”
