A chorus of other right-wing and pro-MAGA social media users also mocked the former president for the now-viral moment.
But the website No The Bee performed a mini experiment almost as a joke which was likely a piece of paper or card Pelosi dropped on stage rather than an awkward moment with toilet paper in a shoe.
During the walk to the podium in Chicago, Illinois, Pelosi looked back at her foot when a white object fell from her pants to the floor.
Some on social media speculated that it was toilet paper that was discarded on stage, but closer inspection suggested a less nefarious explanation.

The outlet found that dropping a piece of toilet paper rather than a piece of paper on the floor was more likely to mean the latter.
