He revealed that he was diagnosed as a psychopath by “three” different therapists, insisting that he is “not a serial killer.”
The anonymous police officer revealed that he was married to a marriage counselor and has a daughter, who was also diagnosed as a psychopath.
Before opening up about his life, he confessed that he comes from a long line of psychopaths and that his wife knows the dark truth about him.

The post was titled: ‘I’m a psychopath and a homicide detective, ask me anything.’
He wrote: ‘As the title suggests, I am a diagnosed psychopath (high functioning SAD, technically) by three different psychiatrists/clinical psychologists.
‘Since I know I’ll be asked these questions, I’ll just add some general background information about myself. I’m a homicide detective (no, I’m not a serial killer). I have a master’s degree in forensic psychology.
“I’m married to a marriage counselor and have an adult daughter from a previous relationship. I see a lot of stuff about psychopaths which is mostly one-sided, and chances are you’ve either come across a psychopath or have one in your friend group or in your bed.”
People across the web flooded the comments section for the chance to ask the psychopath a series of questions.
Some users wondered how he could be married and many wondered if he loved his wife and daughter.
He replied: “No. I like them, I like spending time with them and talking to them, but I can’t say that I love anyone or anything. My daughter is also a psychopath.”
The anonymous author also revealed that his wife knew about his condition before she married him.
The anonymous man allowed people on the web to quiz him as he took to Reddit’s Ask me Anything thread to answer any burning questions about his personality.
He said, “Yeah, it does. That’s how we met, actually.”
‘She knew what she was getting into when we met and talked about my feelings, or lack thereof, even before our first date.
‘I cheated a couple of times at first, I was never very good at relationships until I met her and I didn’t see anything wrong with it.
“She broke up with me when she found out and didn’t give me another chance. I haven’t done it since.”
The anonymous detective also revealed that he was very good at “manipulating” people and added that it helps him.
He also said that no one ever truly understands him.
One user asked: ‘What would you say is your strongest ASPD trait?
‘Do people close to you ever label you as “hard to read”?
‘Manipulation. It’s very useful in my line of work, letting the suspect we’re interrogating think we have more evidence than we do in the hopes that he’ll break down and confess.
‘I don’t use manipulation much outside of work. Never with my wife.
-Some do. The truth is that only a few know the real me, the rest are part of the manipulation.
“They see me the way I want them to see me,” he replied.
He confessed that he realized the truth about his personality when he was a child, adding that he hasn’t cried in a long time.
The anonymous police officer revealed that he was married to a marriage counselor and has a daughter, who was also diagnosed as a psychopath.
Asked about the last time he shed a tear, the man replied: “Not since I was a little boy. Seeing children cry disturbed me as a child too. I didn’t understand it.”
According to the psychopath, the condition runs in his family, as he claims it is “genetic.”
He said: “It runs in the family. I think genetics are always a part of it. I believe more in nurture than nature, but in my case, psychopathy is something natural. I was born that way.”
Fortunately, he revealed that his condition has helped him in his field of work as it makes him more capable of approaching a case without emotions and connecting with a criminal.
He explained: ‘Yes. Emotions don’t affect me, they don’t cloud my judgment. It also helps me when I’m questioning suspects, I can be whoever they need me to be, to get them to confess.
‘I’ve only dealt with a few real psychopathic killers, most are normal people who made bad decisions, usually due to their emotions.’
