An Ohio high school teacher is reportedly facing firing after she was sick for two days to attend a Nashville concert.

Eileen Washburn, an English teacher at Lakota West High School in Liberty Township, near Cincinnati, was placed on unpaid leave after the Lakota Local School District learned of her time off.

During a school board meeting Wednesday, members ruled that Washburn “falsified sick leave” on Feb. 8 and 9 after she told him colleagues about their musical plans.

They decided to put Washburn on unpaid leave until the next meeting, where they will vote on his firing.

In a statement, the school board said the teacher refused to answer questions about her whereabouts on those dates and declined to discuss specific details about why she needed those days off. It is unclear who she supposedly went to see.
