Rebel Wilson has opened up about the physical abuse she suffered at the hands of her father, including an incident where he threatened to “choke and strangle” her.
The Pitch Perfect star, 44, has shared numerous details about her private life in her explosive new memoir Rebel Rising.
In the book, Rebel recalled that her father Warwick, who died in 2013, had a violent outburst when she begged him to buy her a Slurpee when she was 12.
The couple were in the car with Rebel’s sister Liberty when their father lost his temper after they asked him to buy them drinks.
Rebel claimed her father grabbed her leg and yelled at her to “shut up” before saying he would “choke,” “kill” and “strangle” her if she said one more thing.

She wrote: “He moves violently like he really wants to strangle me, right then and there. He is angry. “It’s like a switch was flipped.”
Rebel claimed that she never dared ask her father to buy her a Slurpee again and only asked her mother Sue.
The actress recalled another incident during her childhood when her father allegedly hit her in the face after thinking she had wet the bed.
Rebel told how she and Liberty had been wiping their faces with cloths in bed to try to cool down on a particularly hot night.
The Bridesmaids star had the idea to wet both their mattresses in the hope that it would help them cool down faster.
But when his father entered his bedroom, he thought the couple had wet the bed.
Rebel said he immediately lost his temper and turned into a “red-faced giant.”
She wrote: ‘He brings his palm to his cheek and, with all the force of a strong, burly grown man, hits me as I lie on the wet mattress. Hit. Hit. Hit.’

Rebel noted that her father also hit Liberty, but he hit her harder because she was older and was supposed to be “responsible.”
“We have red marks on our arms and legs from trying to defend ourselves from the blows,” he added.
Warwick Wilson, who was a professional dog trainer, died aged 62 of a heart attack while Rebel was filming the American comedy Super Fun Night.
Rebel’s memoir has attracted headlines for her alleged experience working with Sacha Baron Cohen on the 2016 film Grimsby.
He alleged that on the set of the comedy Sacha asked him to strip for scenes despite his “no nudity” rule, in a series of claims that Sacha has strenuously denied and are, he says, contradicted by the evidence.
In a passage of memoirs obtained by People Magazineshockingly alleged that Sacha asked him to “stick his finger up her ass” because he thought it would be a funny scene in the movie and claimed that he “felt like (he) had sexually harassed me.”
Rebel also claimed that the alleged inappropriate experience with the Borat actor caused her stress eating.

Rebel played Sacha’s on-screen girlfriend in the 2016 Louis Leterrier-directed film and has made a number of accusations about her uncomfortable experience during filming.
Rebel claimed that during filming, Sacha repeatedly “mentioned that he wanted me to be naked in a future scene”, which she claimed was “in no way essential” to the film’s plot.
In her book, which was published in the US on Tuesday, she wrote: “I felt like every time I spoke to SBC, he mentioned that he wanted me to appear naked in a future scene.” I was like, ‘Ha, I don’t do nudity, Sacha.’
Rebel claimed that she was allegedly summoned by a product assistant for an additional scene while filming in Cape Town, South Africa.
Rebel was like, “Okay, let’s film this extra scene,” SBC says. “Then he pulls down his pants,” SBC says matter-of-factly, “Okay, now I want you to stick your finger in my ass.” And I say, ‘What?’ … No!!”
Rebel claimed she was in shock and wanted to get out of there, adding: “Now I was scared.” She wanted to get out of there, so I finally compromised: I slapped her on the butt and improvised some lines as the character.’
The Bridesmaids actress also claimed that she only agreed to a sex scene with Sacha after several rewrites and recalled telling producers that she would not promote the film before its release.
In her memoir, Rebel (pictured in 2016) also claimed that her alleged inappropriate experience with the Borat actor led to her suffering from eating disorders.

Several never-before-seen clips from the film that didn’t make it into the final cut were obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com and show the characters Rebel and Sarah using a cell phone to film themselves getting intimate.
According to people close to Sacha, director Louis Leterrier had to discuss any nudity or sex scenes with Rebel before filming it. They say she accepted the scene.
They also say the cell phone was used because the film called for Rebel and Sacha’s characters, Dawn and Nobby, to use an iPhone to film themselves having sex.
In a statement given to DailyMail.com, Rebel doubled down on her book’s description of Sacha as a ‘jerk’.
“It’s an idiotic move to post footage of part of that disgusting episode and leave out everything that preceded it, including my horrified refusal to stick my finger up SBC’s ass,” he said.
“This couldn’t have been because of the movie, since director Louis Leterrier wasn’t even present,” he said.
‘What this edited video shows is what I had to do to get out of the room, as written in Rebel Rising. Posting unauthorized and misleading behind-the-scenes videos without my approval is SBC’s latest way to intimidate and deceive me.
Rebel appears with her book, in which she alleges that on set, Sacha asked her to strip for scenes despite his “no nudity” rule, claims Sacha has strenuously denied.
Sacha has strenuously denied mistreating Rebel or pressuring her to get naked in the film.
A spokesman for Sacha said: “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive and detailed evidence, including contemporary documents, film footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers”. Sacha’s team also provided nine anonymous statements from crew members that supported the claim that the scene was in the script.
