The young woman who was crushed to death by a falling tree in Adelaide has been identified as an international student from Indonesia who loved cycling.

Emergency services attempted to revive Ms Soeryo, known by the nickname Fia, but were unable to save her.

The Instagram profile of the strange accident victim has been flooded with hundreds of tributes from friends, many of whom were in total disbelief.

“I’ll miss your random replies to my (Instagram) story, I’ll miss your sweetest words and support, I’ll miss you forever Fi,” a coworker said.

Ms Soeryo, who arrived in Adelaide to study just a year ago, was remembered by friends as a big Taylor Swift fan.

“Rest in love, fellow Swiftie,” a friend commented.

Ms Soeryo was a keen road cyclist and often shared videos of herself riding with friends on country roads outside Adelaide.

He had logged 175 rides on the popular sports social media app, Strava.

Adelaide Mayor Dr Jane Lomax-Smith described the horrific incident as “shocking”.

“Council staff are assisting authorities at the scene and we are doing everything we can to determine what has happened,” he said. 7News.

Officials told Nine News the tree was recently reviewed by the local council.
