(autotag)Nicolle Caliari(/autotag) metaphorically took (autotag)Corinne LaFramboise(/autotag)’s arm home on Tuesday at Dana White’s 71 Contender Series.
In the opening bout of the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Brazil’s Caliari (8-2) submitted Canada’s LaFramboise (8-5) with an armbar at 4:45 of the first round. Referee Kerry Hatley ruled the submission a verbal one, according to the broadcast.
Caliari, 27, maintained her 100 percent win percentage. Her only two career losses came against UFC alumni Kay Hansen and Syuri Kondo.
LaFramboise, 35, had her three-fight win streak snapped. She was scheduled to compete at DWCS in 2023, but was pulled from the fight when she discovered she was pregnant.
