Spanish cleaners have filmed themselves working through piles of rubbish after a group of tourists trashed their hotel room in Ibiza.

Discarded vapes, tampons and takeout boxes are among the trash strewn across the floor of the White Isle suite, video shows.

The massacre was filmed by a disgruntled staff member named Sandra Carmona, who lashed out at the “foreigners” she claimed were responsible.

The 47-year-old can be heard in total disbelief at the state of the room, saying: “How can people from so many different countries come here and do this? It’s not normal to mess up a room like that when you’re partying.”

“They even leave their thongs, their tampons… What were these foreigners thinking? Poor cleaners,” he said, adding that they deserved a bonus.

While it is unclear who was responsible for the complaint, viewers of the viral clip in Spain and the UK were quick to blame Britons, for whom the Balearic island is a popular destination.

One social media user commented on the state of the room: “Completely normal British tourist behaviour.”

Whoever occupied the room had clearly been on a wild vacation, with a nearly empty bottle of alcohol on a side table and fast food on the floor.

One person suggested that a solution might be to “force (guests) to pay a deposit and if they leave it like that, that money will go to the cleaning staff.”

But the TikTok video, which racked up thousands of views on the social media platform, divided opinion among travellers.

One person commented: ‘Your job is to clean up what you complain about, that’s what hotels are for, to relax, not to clean up before you leave.’

“I don’t clean anything when I go to hotels, I pay a fortune for it and it’s getting more expensive. I’m not going to do anyone else’s job for it, I’m paying for it,” said another unsympathetic person.

Meanwhile, another bewildered commenter said: “And I left the beds with the clothes removed and the towels all together in a corner and worried about not leaving any mess.”
