Fitness influencers Laura Henshaw and Steph Claire Smith have opened up about a nasty row that nearly ruined their friendship.

The co-founders of Keep It Cleaner (KIC) were enjoying a getaway with their respective husbands Dalton Graham and Josh Miller when the two best friends began a heated fight.

Their respective husbands had to intervene at one point during the uproar to calm things down.

And now Laura, 30, and Steph, 30, have revealed some behind-the-scenes details about the incident.

Opening up to their Kicpod On the podcast, the pair of best friends said they never came close to getting physical during their argument.

However, business partners and friends kept details of the fight and its causes from fans.

“Everything went around in circles. I felt like I was a friend listening to this conversation and I was out of the loop because they never addressed what this fight was about,” he said.

At one point they discussed how Lauren and Steph had discovered that their husbands had been discussing the women’s friendship in private.

And when the men realized that the business partners had been revealing things to their respective husbands behind each other’s backs, they became alarmed.

‘But this fight must have been pretty bad because Steph said she felt like the worst friend… she felt like she had to tread carefully around Laura.’

Amy then said she felt sympathy for the two best friends.

‘I feel sorry for them,’ he continued, ‘You tell your family things you wouldn’t tell anyone else.

‘You forgive a family member what you may not be able to forgive a friend.’

In May, Laura recalled the brutal exchange during the Share my mood podcast.

“We were away for a couple of nights, and it was the second night, and (Steph and Josh) actually stayed in the room the whole time,” Laura told hosts Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw.

The podcaster didn’t say what exactly triggered the verbal exchange between her and Steph, 30, but said it was Dalton and Josh who convinced them to sit down and “be open with each other.”

She said the pair remain very good friends and business partners after “really open and fantastic conversations.”

“It was actually a really awkward conversation[between Steph and I]. And we talk about it from time to time. In fact, we just had another really open and fantastic conversation recently,” she explained.

‘We actually worked with a coach on that conversation, which was really helpful because I think when you have two people, there’s no one who’s objective because they’re involved all the time.’

Laura and Steph met in the early 2010s when they were both modelling at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, shortly after finishing high school.

The duo became fast friends as they worked on many of the same shows and spent much of their time backstage getting to know each other.

In 2015, the pair made a name for themselves as a fitness dream team when they founded health and wellness brand Keep It Cleaner, launching an app, products, a book, and the KICPOD podcast.

Laura took on the role of CEO of the company, while Steph took on the role of COO, launching their brand to phenomenal success over the course of nine years.

The friends have built a multi-million dollar empire with their KIC brand and podcast, where they regularly discuss body positivity and health.

They recently took an exciting step in their fitness and wellness business by entering into a new brand agreement in January.

Laura and Steph posed in pink sportswear for a photoshoot in Bondi to confirm their brand deal with popular sportswear brand STAX.

This isn’t the first big brand deal these longtime friends have struck, as Laura has partnered with brands like Jaggad and Bumble in the past.
