Eddie Murphy has revealed that he doesn’t want a funeral and hopes his loved ones will allow him to “just go quietly” when he dies.
The 63-year-old actor, who has 10 children with five women, made the comments while promoting his new film Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.
At first, he joked that the Beverly Hills Cop theme from the original 1984 film should be played at his funeral to bring a “smile” to mourners.
He laughed as he thought of the movie music playing loudly at his funeral, while mourners looked at each other in confusion.
“It’s just a joke, because I’m never going to have a funeral,” he told film journalist Kevin McCarthy in a Instagram interview.

“I mean I’m going to die like everyone else, but they know they shouldn’t, there’s no funeral, no, just let me go quietly,” he added.
‘They’ – meaning Eddie’s loved ones – include his 10 children, as well as his longtime love, Paige Butcher, 44, an Australian model he has been with since 2012.
Eddie fathered five of his children during his 13-year marriage to Nicole Murphy: Bria, 34, Myles, 31, Shayne, 29, Zola, 24, and Bella, 21.
Between meeting and marrying Nicole, Eddie also welcomed a now 34-year-old son named Christian with a woman named Tamara Hood.
His eldest son is Eric, 34, whom he had with Paulette McNeely, a woman with whom he had a romantic relationship in 1989.
Eddie’s family also includes his 17-year-old daughter Angel, whom he shares with his ex-lover Mel B of the Spice Girls.
Although Eddie initially doubted the claim that he was Angel’s father, he eventually took a DNA test that proved his paternity when the girl was two months old.
When he took the test, he was already dating Babyface’s ex-wife Tracey Edmonds, who married Eddie on New Year’s Day 2008 and left him two weeks later.

He and Paige, who have been engaged for more than half a decade, also have two children together: Izzy, eight, and Max, five.
Last month, Eddie posed with Bria, Shayne and Bella at the star-studded premiere of Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the fourth film in the franchise.
Also spotted at the premiere was Eddie’s firstborn Eric, who attended the party on the arm of his girlfriend Jasmin Lawrence, Martin Lawrence’s daughter.
Eddie first broke into movies in the original Beverly Hills cop movie in 1984, after becoming a household name on Saturday Night Live.
In the first film, Eddie’s character, Axel Foley, is a Detroit detective who takes time off to travel to Beverly Hills to investigate the murder of his childhood friend Mikey.
Now, in the new film, the plot involves a conspiracy that jeopardizes the safety of Axel’s daughter, played by Zola star Taylour Paige.
Axel finds himself traveling back to Beverly Hills from Detroit and reuniting in the process with some familiar faces from the first film.
