A typical grandmother’s birthday gift generated a million-dollar windfall for one lucky man.
The man from Armidale, in New South Wales’ Northern Tablelands, pocketed $1 million after receiving a lottery ticket for Monday and Wednesday’s draw.
He had one of two division one winning entries drawn last Wednesday.
“It has to be the best gift I have ever received,” he said.
‘When I scanned it online and it said I had won $1 million, I didn’t believe it. I thought it was just a bug, so confirming it is crazy.

The man said it didn’t seem real to him when an official called him and told him the news.
