The director confirmed that the couple was still very much in love.
Baz and Catherine have been married for 27 years and have just seen their own children Lilly, 20, and William, 18, move house.
They recently put their Gilded Age townhouse in New York on the market for $28 million as they move to their “empty nest” home in Australia.

“Since the pandemic and when we made the Elvis movie in Australia, our work has mostly kept us away from our base in New York City,” Baz told the New York Post’s Gimme Shelter.
“We filmed Elvis entirely on the Gold Coast in Queensland and will continue to develop shows to film there.”
Baz’s former assistant revealed what it’s really like to work for Australia’s biggest film director in a 2022 interview.
Media personality Matty Mills began working for Luhrmann as his executive assistant in 2020, while he was directing his latest film, Elvis, in Queensland.
While the concert had many perks, including the chance to rub shoulders with movie stars, it’s an experience Matty hopes to never repeat.
“That job, for me, was very hard. It was so exhausting, so hard, but equally rewarding,” he explained on the Not so PG podcast.
“It was never a dream of mine to be someone’s executive assistant, but the respect… that I have for people who do that kind of work… is just so much.”
Of his demanding schedule, Matty said: “I was the first one up on our team and the last one to go to bed.” I was the person who woke Baz up in the morning and the person who said goodnight to him at night.’
