START: Luton 0-0 Everton
Underway inside Kenilworth Road. Hold on to your hats because I suspect we’re in for some fireworks tonight.
Here come the players…
Here we go then, the players enter Kenilworth Road and we are just moments away from everything starting.
No matter what the table says, you feel Luton must win if they want to stay in the Premier League.
Five minutes to start
The atmosphere is seriously heating up inside Kenilworth Road and we’re just five minutes from the start.
Make sure you stay with us throughout the night as we bring you all the key updates and post-match reaction.
Luton desperate for history to repeat itself
Luton have only won six games all season and tonight they face an opponent who handed them their first in the Premier League.
Football has a funny way of rewriting history and Luton will be desperate to do the double over the Toffees tonight in what is a huge game for their survival hopes.
Sean Dyche praises Everton players for ‘handling adversity’
It has been a very strange season for Everton, to say the least. Uncertainty over the takeover, construction of a new stadium and points deductions have been just some of the distractions Sean Dyche and his team have had to deal with.
The big relief for him is that they will be safe in the Premier League for at least one more season.
Dyche has asked a lot of his players throughout a difficult season, but he reserved some rare praise for them ahead of tonight’s game.
Tom Lockyer reveals new role at Luton
The Hatters captain has been unable to play for Luton since suffering cardiac arrest on the Vitality Stadium pitch in December’s clash against Bournemouth.
However, Tom Lockyer has not let that deter him and has remained an ever-present figure at the club ever since.
He previously showed off his broadcasting skills when he made his pundit debut earlier in the season and revealed that he has now been given permission by first-team coach Rob Edwards to start doing more with the club’s players.
Luton MUST address their torrid form tonight
The fact that Luton still have a chance of standing is, frankly, a miracle. The Hatters have won just ONE of their last 14 Premier League games (a 2-1 home win over Bournemouth in early April) and just two games in 2024.
In their last home game they were thrashed 5-1 by relegation rivals Brentford at Kenilworth Road and if they cannot pick up three points against Everton tonight then the Hatters are more than likely to bid farewell to the Premier League.
Thomas Kaminski: “Tonight’s goal is clear”
Luton goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski spoke before the match and revealed that the Luton players are fully aware of what is at stake tonight. If they win, they will leave the relegation zone, but they will lose and their hopes of survival will be in tatters.
Ross Barkley returns to face his former club
The Luton star has revitalized his career this season after being recruited by the Hatters in the summer following a previous failed spell at Nice.
Barkley was once Everton’s crown jewel before moving to Chelsea in a £15million deal in 2018, but things didn’t work out and the 30-year-old found himself falling off the radar of the English top flight.
The playmaker is back to his best with five goals and six assists in 35 appearances this season and has a huge role to play in unlocking Everton’s defense tonight.

What does the table look like?
Three games left, relegation on the line and teams fighting for every point they can get make this a great game at the bottom of the table.
Everton are safe, Brentford are practically safe too, Sheffield United have already been relegated and Burnley are just one point behind Luton.
It looks like the fight for survival could go down to the wire and even goal difference could have a role to play.
Everton fans are likely already looking for news about potential new recruits arriving at Goodison Park in the summer after their Premier League status was confirmed for another season, but that is not the case amid the uncertainty that surrounds the acquisition of the club.
A penultimate look at the end of Kenilworth Road
Tonight marks the penultimate home game of the season for Luton, as Everton fans take their place at the away ground at Kenilworth Road in what could be one of the last times in the Premier League.
Fulham travel to Luton on the final day of the season and if the Hatters are relegated from the top flight this could be the last time Premier League fans travel to the iconic stadium.
Luton are working on plans for a new ground and if they are approved, another classic English football ground will be gone forever.
What kind of Everton will we see tonight?
It looked like the Toffees would be involved in a three-team relegation battle until the final day of the season as they have done in previous years, and were given no help in their bid to avoid the points drop imposed by the Premier League.
That seemed to be their destiny before a win against Nottingham Forest followed up by taking three points off arch-rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside derby and another win against Brentford ensured their survival.
Sean Dyche hopes his players are no longer on holiday and still have a big part to play in the relegation battle tonight.
Spring has not yet arrived in Luton
Some parts of England have been blessed with sunny weather this week as spring finally sprung to life, but for Luton it has been more of the same; rain and wind.
However, the Hatters are used to this weather and fans will be hoping the home conditions can contribute to a vital victory over Everton.
Luton’s best chance of survival
Tonight could be the game that defines Luton’s season. If they lose, they will have to get a win against Fulham or West Ham in their last two remaining games to have any chance of survival.
If they beat the Toffees, Luton will move out of the relegation zone and above Nottingham Forest, who will play bottom-placed Sheffield United tomorrow.

Hello, thanks for joining us and welcome to Mail Sport’s Friday night coverage of what is a massive bottom of the table Premier League clash.
Everton are safe from relegation for another season after beating Brentford in their last game, while the Hatters are just one point from safety and can move Nottingham Forest out of the relegation zone with a win tonight.
