The numbers have been revealed

Australian lottery trends have been revealed ahead of the monster $100 million jackpot.

One lucky punter could walk away with a staggering $100 million during Thursday’s Powerball as winnings pile up.

It could mark the third-biggest jackpot of the entire year, as well as the sixth-biggest in Australian lottery history.

Although everything depends on luck, some winning trends have been detected.

QuickPick or pick your own numbers?

So far, 11 Powerball division one winners have pocketed more than $492 million this year, with five wins in New South Wales ($210 million), four in Queensland ($120 million) and one each in South Australia ($150 million) and Victoria ($12 million).

More than half of the winning tickets were QuickPicks and almost half were PowerHit tickets, which is a Powerball ticket that guarantees the Powerball number needed to win division one.

Almost half were also small entries, 36 or less.

‘Hot’ and ‘cold’ numbers

The main barrel, where seven numbers are drawn out of 35, has brought several frequently drawn numbers, including 17, 7, 3 and 9.

The “hot” and “cold” numbers have been revealed, and seven of them are among the most frequently drawn. 14 and 16 are “cold.”

The least frequently drawn numbers are 15, 33, 31 and 26.

The most drawn numbers for the power barrel are 2 and 4, while the least drawn are 14 and 16.

Zip Code Hotspots

The luckiest postcodes have also been revealed: Eli Waters/Urraween in Queensland (4655), Melbourne in Victoria (3000) and Sydney CBD (2000), which have all sold four division one winning tickets.

Mitchell in the ACT (2911), Salisbury in South Australia (5108), Casuarina in the Northern Territory (0810) and Burnie in Tasmania (7320) sold the largest division one prizes in the respective states and territories.

Bassendean in Western Australia (6054) sold two division one winning entries.

Up to half of Australian adults are expected to try their luck in Thursday’s draw, with The Lott spokesman Matt Hart calling the jackpot “a life-changing prize”.

“If a single person takes home the full $100 million prize on Thursday night, they will not only receive a substantial boost to their bank account but will also share the crown of Australia’s third-biggest lottery winner in history,” he said.

‘Only five Australians have ever known what it’s like to win a lottery prize of $100 million or more, but we may increase that number on Thursday night.

‘The thought of winning this life-changing jackpot is sure to have Australians dreaming big this week.’
