When Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan returned to the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month, style commentators called it “an iconic comeback.”
The 38-year-old actress appeared at the Balenciaga show wearing a black sequin dress, a leather jacket and a ponytail, but what surprised fans the most was her face.
Some suggested that the troubled star’s new sobriety was the reason behind her refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.
Lohan, who gave birth to her first child, a son named Luai, in July of last year is sober after stints in and out of rehab and multiple run-ins with the law.
Others suspected that the surgeon’s scalpel had helped: ‘These photographs don’t even look like her. “She’s beautiful, but this isn’t her face,” one fan joked on Reddit.

Fans noticed that the star’s face is more defined than in her previous public appearances.
Her miraculous transformation has sparked controversy online as fans debate how she now looks much younger.
Fans speculated that it may have been his sobriety that caused his transformation after years out of rehab and legal trouble.
Now, in a viral video posted on TikTok, cosmetic treatment expert Dr. Johnny Betteridge has given his verdict on the drastic work he had likely done.
The Botox and fillers guru, based in the United Kingdom, explained that she had previously suffered from poorly made injectables.
‘Look at your face from more than a decade ago, we can see signs of overfilling. Predominantly on the cheeks and lips, and notice how your nose is wider and less defined,” says Dr. Betteridge.
Dr. Betteridge said the transformation is clearly the result of additional procedures and possibly helped by weight loss.
Recent photos posted to her social media show that the swelling has disappeared and her features are more defined.

“Fast forward a few years, and you have the characteristic features of overfullness, where your face looks puffy and you have a uniformed appearance.”
Dr. Betteridge then explained how her appearance has completely changed.
“This is what good surgical and non-surgical work looks like,” says the TikTok doctor.
A lot would have gone into this look. “There would be some degree of weight loss, dissolving the fillers and then doing them more precisely, probably in the middle of the face, cheeks and lips,” he explains.

‘From a surgical perspective it appears that she has had an upper blepharoplasty’, a procedure that reconstructs the upper eyelid.
The doctor says it’s noticeable because ‘his eyes are more open and there is less skin laxity in this area.’ Your nose is much sharper and more defined than a rhinoplasty.’
Despite having worked more, he says that “his face looks more natural than it did a few years ago.”

Others were less impressed. “I’m glad he’s happy and healthy, but fucking metric surgery doesn’t age like fine wine,” one Reddit user commented on another image of the star’s transformation.

Cosmetic surgeon Matthew Schulman also told Forbes magazine that Lohan’s altered appearance was clearly the result of some cosmetic procedures.
‘I don’t think it’s any secret that some things were done to Lindsay. Clearly, she’s had some lip augmentation done.
“Her skin looks much smoother and clearer, so she may have some Botox and fillers in her cheeks, which is why her cheeks look fuller,” Shulman says.
The transformation occurs as he prepares to return to the screen. Sequel to Freak Friday, Freakier Friday, which will hit theaters next year.
In an interview with Allure, the former child star said she finds it funny that people think she’s aging backwards.
She rejected suggestions she had worked, saying: “I just look after my skin.”
