It was Mike Lynch who brought the group together to celebrate his recent acquittal of charges in the United States on the yacht.

There were 12 guests on board the £30m Bayesian superyacht when it sank off the coast of Sicily after being hit by a freak tornado.

The 59-year-old tech mogul has an estimated net worth of £852 million.

Raised in Ilford, east London, by Irish parents, he made millions after setting up software company Autonomy in 1996.

It was the father of two who gathered the group together to celebrate his recent acquittal of charges in the United States over the yacht.

The Cambridge graduate had faced fraud and conspiracy charges after selling Autonomy for £9bn to US giant Hewlett Packard in 2011.

He owns a multi-million-pound ivy-covered house in Chelsea, west London. He has received numerous awards, including an OBE for services to business in 2006.

Hannah Lynch: MISSING

The youngest of Mike Lynch’s two daughters, Hannah, was on the yacht after completing her A-level studies and securing a place to study English at Oxford.

The 18-year-old won prestigious accolades during her time at Latymer Upper School, where fees are £25,000 a year.

The teenager received awards for excellence in English, religion and philosophy, as well as a special William C Smith Prize for poetry.

Her friends described her as a “supernova,” kind and gentle, intellectual and a staunch feminist.

Jonathan Bloomer: MISSING

Veteran businessman Bloomer is chairman of Morgan Stanley International bank and Hiscox insurance company.

The 70-year-old Briton studied at Imperial College London and previously served on the boards of several high-profile companies.

He is said to be a close friend of Dr Lynch and appeared at his trial in the United States as a defence witness.

Judy Bloomer: MISSING

Jonathan Bloomer’s wife, Judy, is listed as a former director of the property development company Change Real Estate along with her husband.

She is described as a “brilliant advocate for women’s health” and has been a trustee and supporter of the gynaecological cancer research charity Eve Appeal for over 20 years.

Judy, who studied English language and literature at Cambridge, worked as a psychotherapist for almost 30 years.

Christopher Morvillo: MISSING

American Christopher Morvillo, a partner at the New York law firm Clifford Chance, represented Dr Lynch at his US trial in San Francisco.

He expressed his delight on LinkedIn after securing the acquittal of Dr Lynch and his colleague Stephen Chamberlain on fraud charges in June.

Mr Morvillo wrote: ‘A huge thank you to my patient and amazing wife, Neda Morvillo, and my two strong, bright and beautiful daughters, Sabrina Morvillo and Sophia Morvillo.’

He signed the message emotionally: “And they all lived happily ever after.” He worked on the terrorist investigation into the September 11 attacks.

Neda Morvillo: MISSING

The 57-year-old, who runs a luxury jewellery line under her maiden name Neda Nassiri, was on the yacht with her husband, Mr Morvillo.

The couple have two daughters, Sabrina, 27, a voice actress, and Sophia, 23.

Recaldo Thomas: BODY FOUND

The chef aboard the luxury yacht, Recaldo Thomas, has been confirmed dead after his body was found floating near the shipwreck.

Mr Thomas was a Canadian-born veteran and one of ten crew members on board. Gareth Williams, who had been friends with the chef for 30 years, described him as a “kind and well-liked human being”.

His body was identified yesterday by Italian authorities.

Angela Bacares: RESCUED

The 57-year-old is Dr Lynch’s wife and mother to their daughters Hannah, 18, and Esme, 21.

She is the owner of the £30m luxury yacht that sank. The US-born mother of two owns the majority of shares in Darktrace, a British cybersecurity company she co-founded with her husband.

According to the Standard Tech Rich List, his estimated net worth is £190m.

Charlotte Golunski: RESCUED

The 35-year-old British mother was travelling on the yacht with her partner, James Emsley, 36, and their one-year-old baby, Sofia.

The Oxford graduate is a partner at Dr Lynch’s Invoke Capital and has worked there since 2012.

The mother of one of them managed to save her baby from drowning after being submerged in the rough waves in the dark.

He held on to Sofia and held her above the water until he could reach a lifeboat. The family was said to be recovering well.

Sofia Emsley: RESCUED

The daughter of one of the sons, who was saved from the waves by her mother, Mrs. Golunski, ate a roll, a pizza and a croissant and played happily with the nurses at a hospital in Palermo.

Domenico Cipolla told Italian media: “She is very bright and communicates with a look. If she were two or three years old she would be at risk of trauma, but I think she will forget about this.”

Ayla Ronald, a senior associate at Clifford Chance, had been invited on the trip with her partner Matthew Fletcher, 41.

The 36-year-old worked alongside Morvillo to help defend Mike Lynch. She is from Christchurch, New Zealand, but lives in London with her boyfriend.

Ronald’s father, Lin, said Dr Lynch had invited his daughter to go sailing as a result of the success of the case in the US courts. He said she was “very shocked”.

Two members of the ship’s crew, Leah Randall and Katja Chicken, both from South Africa, were rescued from the wreckage.

Captain James Calfield, 51, who also survived, told Italian media just five words in hospital: “We didn’t see it coming.”

Another crew member, Frenchman Matthew Griffith, 22, was rescued, as was Irish guest Sasha Murray, 29.
