Bulandshahr, UP:
The principal of a primary school in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing girl students and showing “indecent videos” on mobile phones, police said on Tuesday.
The director, Pratap Singh, was arrested on Monday and sent to jail, they said.
According to the police complaint, Singh inappropriately touched the girl students of the school.
The girls, all between nine and twelve years old, stopped going to school as a result, the complainant said.
They were also shown “dirty movies” on the phone and threatened that they would talk about them at home, that he would fail them on the exam and ban them from school, the complaint said.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rohit Mishra said a case has been registered at Arnia police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. The suspect was arrested and sent to jail, he said.
