A Palestinian father of three is reported to be the only fatality following Iran’s bombing of Israel last night after footage captured the moment he was crushed to death by falling shrapnel in the West Bank.

In the horror video published by Israel, the man identified by the Palestinian meida as the worker Samer al-Asali, 37, is seen killed instantly by the huge part of the Iranian rocket.

The shocking footage captured the moment the man was standing on the side of a road in the West Bank village of Nu’eima, near Jericho, when a giant chunk of shrapnel fell from the sky.

As al-Asali circled under a streetlight on the empty road, he took a step off the sidewalk before the large piece of shrapnel landed on his head and forced him to the ground.

Four other Palestinians were also reportedly injured by shrapnel from the same missile.

“A Palestinian worker in Jericho was killed when pieces of a rocket fell from the sky and hit him,” Jericho governor Hussein Hamayel told AFP.

The Palestinian meida reported that al-Asali was originally from Jabalia, Gaza, the stronghold of Israel’s terrorist enemy Hamas.

No other deaths were reported earlier today, but at least four people were said to have suffered minor injuries inside Israel, while others were injured while running for cover from falling debris.

Images circulating on social media of the tragic incident show al-Asali’s body covered by a sheet and the several-meter-long missile casing lying ominously next to him.

Al-Asali was one of thousands of Gaza workers who were granted Israeli work permits and were then stranded in Israel following the catastrophic Hamas attack on October 7 and then forced to seek refuge in the West Bank.

Last night, Iran fired a barrage of nearly 200 ballistic missiles into Israeli territory and the Israeli military is now preparing a “significant retaliation” for the shocking attack.

The IDF said it intercepted “a large number” of ballistic missiles thanks to the country’s Arrow and David’s Sling missile defense systems, and assistance from US destroyers and Jordanian interceptors in the region.

Reports now suggest that Israel, which has vowed to strike “powerfully” in response to Iran, could attack the country’s oil facilities.

Israel Defense Forces Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari called the multiple attacks “a severe and dangerous escalation” and warned that “there will be consequences.”

Hagari added: ‘There were a small number of attacks in central Israel and other attacks in southern Israel.

‘Most of the incoming missiles were intercepted by Israel and a US-led defensive coalition.

This morning, Hezbollah launched more than 100 rockets into Israel, with the group claiming it had targeted soldiers massed on the border as the Israel Defense Forces ordered more troops and armored units to join its ground invasion of Lebanon.

The militant group said this morning that it had confronted Israeli forces infiltrating the southern village of Adaisseh and forced them to withdraw, claims on which Israel has not commented.

The Iran-backed group also said its fighters had attacked “a large infantry force” in Misgav Am, across the border, with “rocket and artillery,” as well as troop concentrations at three other locations, including one with short-range Burkan ballistic missiles.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Israeli strikes killed at least 32 people overnight as the army launched ground operations in the hard-hit town of Khan Younis.

Israel has continued to strike what it says are militant targets across Gaza nearly a year after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack sparked the war, even as attention has shifted to Lebanon and rising tensions with Iran.
