Ariana Ramsey, who won an Olympic bronze medal with the US women’s rugby team alongside Ilona Maher last week, shared her exciting discovery in a now-viral TikTok.
“So not only do we have free food in the village, but we also have free dental care and free medical care,” the elite athlete, who is originally from Philadelphia, shared in her clip.

“So I can choose the glasses I want,” she said, displaying the glasses on a stand behind her.
“I’m really surprised,” she continued, revealing that she only had to wait 30 minutes to pick up her prescriptions.

The village clinic can reportedly handle hundreds of patient visits a day, but Ariana says many of the staff members have thanked her for raising awareness of their existence.

A 2022 study by The Commonwealth Fund revealed that the United States was the only high-income country without universal health care.
Team USA Designated Athletes are eligible receive health insurance through the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee’s Elite Athlete Health Insurance (EAHI) Program.
However, this does not include comprehensive dental or vision coverage.
