Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for president just days after her friend Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, appeared to endorse Donald Trump.

Caitlin Clark was among those who liked the explosive post from Swift, the girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, following Tuesday’s presidential debate.

Patrick Mahomes and Kelce are close friends and the pair sat next to each other at the US Open men’s singles final on Sunday.

They later went out for a double date in New York, not long after Brittany made headlines by liking several social media posts in support of Trump.

More than 3.2 million people liked Swift’s Instagram post in just over an hour on Tuesday night, when the pop superstar confirmed: “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.

He explained that the Vice President “fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend them.”

Swift added: ‘I think she’s a talented and steady leader and I think we can accomplish so much more in this country if we’re guided by calm and not chaos.

“I was very encouraged and impressed by her choice of running mate (Walz), who has championed LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades. I have done my research and made my decision.”

Swift’s post is the latest chapter in her relationship with Brittany, who sit on opposite sides of the US political spectrum. A source exclusively told DailyMail.com that they “respect that they have different views” and made a “pact” to avoid discussing politics last month.

Swift’s endorsement also comes less than a week after they sat in different luxury suites for the Chiefs’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens.
