Steph passes Barkley for 30th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
Steph Curry has surpassed a Hall of Famer in the The NBA’s all-time scoring list.
Curry recorded his 23,747th point in the third quarter of the Warriors’ matchup against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, passing basketball legend Charles Barkley for 30th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
The milestone is even more intriguing because Barkley’s long-standing criticism of Golden State during Curry’s tenure with the team.
While Curry already had the advantage of four NBA championships to Barkley’s zero, the Warriors superstar now also has individual bragging rights over his longtime critic.
Sacramento Kings forward DeMar DeRozan started the day just ahead of Barkley, ranking 29th with 23,760 points. DeRozan and the Kings will face the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night, which could make any potential Curry move to the No. 29 spot short-lived.
Wednesday’s career milestone is another happy Boston memory for Curry, who also secured a championship and Finals MVP victory inside TD Garden.
