Sports TV host Katie Nolan questioned whether Ben Affleck was high during the Tom Brady actor’s roast in last weekend’s Netflix comedy special.
Nolan, a commentator on AppleTV+’s Friday Night baseball show, complained that Affleck never seems to enjoy anything sports-related, even though the actor is a basketball fan, as shown in his ‘The Way Back’ films. and ‘Air’.
On Sunday, Affleck was on stage for seven and a half minutes to roast Brady, but he didn’t understand the criticism he had of the future Hall of Fame quarterback as he ranted and rambled about internet trolls.
‘Can I ask why on sports television we never get the good old Affleck? Every time he does something sports on TV, it’s like, “Is he on drugs?” Nolan said early on ‘The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.’
“Just like I’m bad at knowing if someone has fake hair, I’m bad at knowing if someone is on drugs,” she continued. “But it did give me the energy of when you get stuck talking to a guy late at a wedding and you don’t realize until you get too deep into the conversation that, ‘Oh, this guy’s on drugs.’

Affleck previously came under fire in 2016 for his expletive-filled tirade against the NFL over Brady’s Deflategate-related suspension, as he seemed incohesive on Bill Simmons’ now-cancelled HBO show ‘Any Given Wednesday.’
Nolan mentioned that on Monday while further discussing the 51-year-old two-time Academy Award winner’s roast appearance.
‘Ben Affleck, come on, honey. Take a step forward,” Nolan said.
During the Netflix roast, Affleck criticized social media users who troll athletes and explained that Brady had shown him offensive posts on X. He specifically mentioned one user ‘Tallboyhenry’ during his rant.
“The fans have your back,” Brady said. ‘You guys out there talking shit, okay, behind your fucking keyboard, that doesn’t make you bigots, it makes you ab***.’
When asked about insinuations on social media that Affleck didn’t want to be at Brady’s roast, Nolan said, “Okay, then stop coming, how about that?”
‘You’re at Tom Brady’s roast, you’re like the fan’s representative. …Like why he would approach some ghost. I don’t even know, was that Twitter person real? I doubt it. I doubt he was actually talking to a real Twitter person who tweeted at Tom Brady.
