Social media has erupted over a seemingly leaked plan that Wendy’s would begin making the burger made famous by SpongeBob SquarePants.
Speculation appears to have begun when someone claiming to be a Wendy’s employee posted a photo of an advertisement From fast food chain to Reddit.
“Starting October 8, get ready to experience the magic of the cultural phenomenon SpongeBob SquarePants!” it said.
“To celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary this year, Wendy’s will introduce its own take on SpongeBob’s iconic Krabby Patty as part of an exclusive Krabby Patty Kollab with Paramount,” it said.
The iconic burger will be available to customers in the United States, Canada and Guam through November 11.
A memo shared on social media appears to suggest that Wendy’s will be introducing SpongeBob’s iconic Krabby Patty.

Wendy’s Krabby Patty will be a “premium cheeseburger featuring fresh, never-frozen beef, topped with fresh produce and a secret Krabby Patty sauce, capturing the magic of the iconic fictional sandwich for SpongeBob SquarePants fans,” according to the memo.
The franchise will also offer hot and crispy fries and an under-the-sea pineapple ice cream treat, he says.
When the memo spread on social media, SpongeBob fans were very happy.
“NO ONE DOES IT LIKE MY GOAT WENDY’S,” wrote one social media user. “NAME ANOTHER RESTAURANT THAT HAS THE SECRET KRABBY PATTY FORMULA.”
Others joked that the fast food company was able to get the secret formula faster than the show’s antagonist, Plankton.

Another X user suggested that he would be rich after stealing the formula.

Others, however, seemed disappointed by the memo.
“Me after finding out Wendy’s Krabby Patty is just a new secret sauce on a regular burger with… some kind of pineapple shake and hot crispy fries,” one X user wrote, sharing a photo of Snoop Dogg lying down.
One man was disappointed that the burger was “just a new secret sauce on a regular burger.”
A One X user shared a clip from the cartoon showing Mr. Krabs updating the price of a Krabby Patty to over $100, suggesting that Wendy’s will similarly raise its prices.
