Savannah Chrisley tells GOP convention Trump was 'persecuted' like her jailed reality star parents Todd and Julie
  • She lashed out at Fulton County prosecutors and called for Steven Bannon to be released.
  • Trump was furious with prosecutors but called for a “unity” convention

Reality TV star Savannah Chrisley used her own family history to settle a score at the Republican convention with prosecutors whom President Donald Trump accuses of conducting politically motivated investigations.

Chrisley delivered a speech to the assembled delegates and bigwigs in which she lashed out at the Fulton County prosecutors who charged her parents and are currently prosecuting Trump and alleged co-conspirators after suffering some humiliating setbacks.

She called for Trump ally Steve Bannon to be released from the Biden family ‘corruption’ investigation.

“We need to hold corrupt prosecutors accountable,” said Chrisley, whose parents were sentenced to 19 years in prison but whose sentences were eventually overturned.

The attack followed “warrantless raids” in Fulton County, Georgia, the same county where Trump and alleged co-conspirators were indicted on charges related to their attempt to overturn the election.

Chrisley, who has appeared on The Masked Singer and Sharknado 4, called for “the corruption of the Biden family to be exposed. And guess what, I know just the man for the job,” she said, suggesting Trump would use the powers of a second term to go after his rival.

“We need to hold corrupt prosecutors accountable,” reality TV star Savannah Chrisley said in her speech at the Republican convention in Milwaukee.

She also appears on Chrisley Knows Best, a USA Network reality show. It features the parents of real estate mogul Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie, who were convicted of fraud charges, sent to prison, had their sentences reduced, and then… thrown off on how it was calculated.

Trump himself has called for “retribution,” something Biden repeatedly invokes in interviews.

It was a side event at a convention that Trump and his top officials say is aimed at calling for national “unity” after a would-be assassin shot and wounded the Republican presidential nominee.

But his comments touched on some of the most controversial issues that have infuriated Trump and divided the nation. They come just weeks after Trump was found guilty on 34 counts in the Stormy Daniels hush-money trial in New York, and a day after a Trump-appointed judge dismissed her classified documents case in Florida.

“Donald J. Trump has only one conviction that matters, and that is the conviction to Make America Great Again,” he said in one of the applause lines that referred to the New York hush-money case that has him facing sentencing in September.

He called for the release of Bannon, a former White House chief strategist who turned himself in for defying a congressional subpoena.

“Look what they’ve done to Steve Bannon. I mean, that man should be at home,” he said, to cheers from the Republican crowd.

His speech raised some of the legal issues that have infuriated Trump and prompted some of his angriest online tirades.

“My family was targeted by corrupt prosecutors in Fulton County because of our public profile… and conservative beliefs. My parents are accused of fraud when, on rare occasions, we were defrauded by a dishonest business partner,” he said at the convention.

‘Look what they’re doing to President Trump. Meanwhile, let’s face it, Hunter Biden is running around at large and attending classified meetings,’ he said, attacking the president’s son.
