Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson showed off his ability on both sides of the stadium when he visited PNC Park to throw out the first pitch on Friday.
Before the Pirates’ home game against the Boston Red Sox, the former Super Bowl champion had the honor of throwing out the ceremonial pitch in his new city.
Wilson was wearing a black Pirates jersey when he took the mound. He then showed how his quarterback’s accuracy translates into baseball with a quick, straight throw.
Additionally, Wilson showed his prowess in the batter’s box.

Wilson was also filmed throwing a few balls at the bat before throwing out the first pitch.
Wilson came to Pittsburgh after his four-year contract with the Denver Broncos was cut short in the middle following two mediocre seasons. After being informed that he would be released in free agency, the Broncos gave Wilson the green light to talk to other teams ahead of time.
Before landing with the Steelers, Wilson reportedly met with the Raiders and Giants.
In addition to Wilson, the Steelers also acquired rising star Justin Fields from Chicago.
With a promising veteran quarterback on his roster, Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin previously revealed that the 2014 Super Bowl winner is in pole position to start. On the other hand, Fields will have minutes but will mainly serve as a substitute for his senior.
Wilson joined the Pittsburgh Steelers after two mediocre seasons with the Denver Broncos.
After reuniting with the Raiders and Giants, Wilson signed a one-year deal to be in the Steel City.
“Russell has those resources, that structure, and that’s why I say he’s got the pole position, man,” Tomlin said in March. “He just creates a synergy that I think is good for this time of year.”
“When it comes time to compete, we get into training camp-like environments and we go to preseason stadiums and so on, obviously Justin will be given an opportunity to demonstrate his capabilities.”
Wilson and Fields will fan the flame of a Steelers team that finished last season with a 10-7 record and third place in the AFC North.
