A 14-year-old girl has been charged with murder following an alleged stabbing at a caravan park on Queensland’s Fraser Coast.

Emergency services were called to a Big4 Hervey Bay Holiday Park in Point Vernon on Saturday night following reports that a 24-year-old man had been stabbed.

The man was rushed to Hervey Bay Hospital but died a short time later.

Queensland police confirmed the 14-year-old girl was arrested nearby and later charged with one count of murder.

She is due to appear in Hervey Bay Youth Court on Monday.

Police believe the girl and the man knew each other.

Anyone with information that could assist police with investigations into the suspected murder is urged to come forward.
