Hundreds of parents have warned a mother about the little-known danger lurking in plain sight in her baby’s room.

Dezyree, from the US, and her partner are excited to be parents for the first time and decorated their daughter’s room in blue with an “under the sea” theme.

The bedroom was decorated from top to bottom with a stunning wall, colorful curtains, jellyfish hanging in the corners and stickers on the walls.

But after sharing images on a popular Facebook group, other moms were quick to point out that wall stickers near the crib pose a suffocation hazard as the child grows.

The cunning jellyfish also pose the same risk.

While the room looks beautiful to the eye, concerned mothers said the stickers should be removed when the newborn can stand up.

‘Unfortunately, those stickers on the wall next to the crib pose a suffocation hazard. “Once the baby can stand, they will take them off and put them in their mouth,” one wrote.

‘Amazing! I love this so much! Just remember that the baby is not small forever. It will destroy everything when it starts moving and walking. So maybe let’s set the record straight and really secure everything,” said another.

‘So beautiful! Keep in mind that if the things on the wall closest to the crib are wall stickers, you’ll probably need to move them just for safety reasons (my son has tried to put them in his mouth every chance he’s had), but still beautiful! a third wrote.

Another added: ‘This is so beautiful!! Just because I’m super paranoid, please watch out for those cute jellyfish strings hanging over the crib.

Despite the warning, Dezyree shared an update in the comments explaining that she is aware of the risk and that these will be eliminated when her daughter is able to stand.

“This room right now is for a newborn baby who will probably be attached to my hip,” she wrote.

‘The jellyfish on top of the crib are more than safe and will not fall out! We are planning on moving them once she is old enough to stand up and reach, if that happens once the crib is lowered.

Dezyree also described herself as an “experienced child watcher” and will rearrange the room accordingly for safety.

He added that it’s ironic that they chose the name ‘Meadow Joy’ and at the same time chose an ‘ocean’ theme.

‘Honestly, I never thought about that. Pregnancy brain? Or my husband and I have chosen his name forever,” she wrote.

“I loved the little mermaid as a kid and I’d never had anything like this, so I thought it would be special.”
