Noah Williams took bronze in the men’s 10m platform diving event with a sensational comeback, adding another achievement to Team GB’s growing collection of diving joys.
The 24-year-old looked depressed and lost after five dives as he found himself languishing in fifth place.
However, final scores of 93.60 and 94.35 were enough to get Williams across the finish line and claim her first individual Olympic medal.
Earlier in the Games, she found her form with Tom Daley in the 10m synchronised event and they took silver.
In this individual event, Cao Yuan of China won the gold medal while Rikuto Tamai of Japan took the silver.

The 24-year-old was in fifth place with two jumps remaining but kept his cool to claim a place on the podium.

Mexican Randal Valdez could have denied her a fifth medal as Williams watched nervously.
In fact, Williams had only qualified 12th for the final, which was not the most optimistic forecast for a podium finish.
But Valdez made a mistake, meaning Williams’ two extraordinary final jumps were enough to guarantee Team GB another night of celebration.
His teammate Kyle Kothari had to settle for 11th place.
In addition to Williams’ successes, the British team placed third in the women’s 3m synchronised springboard, the men’s 3m synchronised springboard and the women’s 10m synchronised platform.
Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen claimed Team GB’s first ever medal at the Games in the former, also becoming the team’s first female diving medallists in 64 years.
Williams was in a playful mood after collecting her second medal of the Paris Games.
