Joy Reid has suggested that Donald Trump’s grandchildren do not have a romantic relationship with the former president.

The controversial MSNBC host compared Trump’s private life to that of President Joe Biden when she said the Republican’s family doesn’t seem as close-knit.

“Donald Trump has grandchildren, too, but the physical interactions they had at the convention felt so cold and somewhat clinical,” Reid said Wednesday, adding that “it didn’t feel real.”

“It didn’t seem real. You don’t really see Melania.”

Reid’s comment came as she discussed Biden’s marriage to first lady Jill, saying, “You don’t really see Melania.”

“The closeness of the (Biden) family is another contrast to the other family that is on the table,” Reid added.

Trump’s grandchildren were front and center at the Republican convention in Milwaukee last week, with his eldest granddaughter, Kai, even giving a speech about her relationship with the former president.

His four-year-old granddaughter, Caroline, also touched people’s hearts when she was seen on Trump’s lap while her older brother, Eric Luke, joined them in cheering on their father, Eric Trump.

Biden, for his part, is notoriously close to his six grandchildren, although he does not appear to have a relationship with Hunter Biden’s five-year-old daughter with Lunden Roberts.

Reid’s claims about the Trump family came just days after he said Black Americans could be shunned by their communities if they don’t fall in line and vote for Kamala Harris.

The incendiary host warned black voters they would look “really weird and really alone” if they didn’t support the “extraordinary woman of color” in November’s presidential election.

At the same time, he renewed hostilities with black model Amber Rose, who angered the liberal spokesperson by speaking in support of Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention last week.

“The door needs to be closed behind Amber, and she looks crazy in there. But close the door behind her,” the liberal host told her nearly two million Twitter followers.

But Reid’s demands quickly sparked accusations of incitement to racism and a furious backlash against those who told them to vote along racial lines.

Reid also sparked outrage after listing a number of things he considers “bizarre” about the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, and appeared to suggest it was a staged event.

“We still don’t know for sure whether Donald Trump was hit by a bullet,” he began. “We know almost nothing.”

And after President Biden tested positive for Covid days after the assassination attempt, Reid said on a broadcast that Biden’s brush with the virus was as heroic as Trump’s reaction in narrowly avoiding a bullet.

Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk led criticism of Reid’s comments, calling on MSNBC to “take Reid off the air” for his “outrageous, insane and defamatory” theories.
