Prince Harry couldn’t resist a little “daddy dancing” as he got into the spirit of a traditional performance on his first day in Colombia.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were greeted by Colombia’s Vice President Francia Marquez and her husband Rafael Yerney Pinillo after arriving in the country on Thursday for the start of a four-day tour.

Prince Harry and Meghan enjoyed theatre, music and dance performances at the Delia Zapata National Arts Centre in Bogota on their first day in South America.

And it seems Harry got carried away by the vibrant atmosphere as he jumped up and down from the side of the stage while watching his wife show off her impressive dance moves.

The prince appeared in high spirits as he clapped and smiled as Meghan joined the dancers in the centre of the room.

The royal couple enjoyed a colourful theatrical performance of the play ‘The Hummingbird’s Kiss’.

Harry watched as the outfits were explained to him, which included multi-colored feather headdresses adorned with exotic birds.

At the end of the performance, Harry and Meghan shook hands with the dancers and the duke told one: “These costumes are amazing.”

Harry is known for taking part in royal tours and was seen dancing enthusiastically in Jamaica in 2012.

The royal, then 27, showed he had remarkably good timing as he danced to a cover of One Love by reggae legend Bob Marley.

Meanwhile, he was filmed trying to master traditional dance in Lesotho in 2013.

Wearing jeans and desert boots, the 28-year-old took part in an impromptu dance session on his knees in the dust.

Harry and Meghan did a quick costume change for the performance, opting for lighter colors compared to the dark and navy suits they wore when they landed in the country.

The Sussexes had earlier smiled as they arrived hand-in-hand in the country’s capital for the start of their four-day quasi-royal visit.

They were warmly embraced by Ms. Marquez, who drove them to the downtown public school, Centro Nacional Cultura Popular, which was heavily guarded for the couple’s visit.

In one snap, Harry appears to be removing something from his jacket with his hand as a student sitting between Meghan and Marquez stares aimlessly ahead.

During the visit, the students spoke with Harry and Meghan about their concerns regarding technological change.

A translator was available, but Meghan showed off her language skills as she chatted in Spanish.

The Duchess described the group as incredibly “impressive, intelligent and clever” and stressed the importance of their aim to be “self-sufficient and not dependent on technology”.

During a speech yesterday, Harry appeared to reference the Southport attack in which three girls died, according to the BBC.

He said: “As long as people are allowed to spread lies and abuse, social cohesion as we know it has completely broken down… what happens online in a matter of minutes now moves out onto the streets.”

Meghan and Harry had previously presented Ms Marquez and her partner, Rafael Yerney Pinillo, with an unspecified personal gift before a closed-door tea and coffee break featuring traditional pan de bono, Colombian cheese bread.

The Duchess of Sussex was invited to the country by Vice President Marquez after learning more about her story through the couple’s two-part documentary on Netflix.

The Sussexes were pictured smiling and walking hand-in-hand in Bogota shortly after meeting Ms Marquez earlier yesterday – with official images showing Meghan smiling broadly as she greets the senior politician.

Meghan wore a navy summer suit by Veronica Beard, comprising a £448 pair of trousers and a £598 waistcoat, along with a £3,775 white Loro Piana ‘Loom’ bag.

He also wore shoes that resembled a pair of £595 Manolo Blahnik court shoes he has worn before. Harry cut a unified front with his own outfit, wearing a matching dark suit, a light blue shirt and black dress shoes.

The couple have a busy schedule for the next few days of their royal tour, which comes three months after their visit to Nigeria, starting with a visit to the local nursery school, Colegio Cultura Popular, which is under heavy armed guard.

They were invited to Colombia for their quasi-royal tour after the country’s vice president saw them on Netflix and was “moved” by their story.

Harper’s Bazaar, the Sussex-friendly publication accompanying the couple on the trip, reports that the couple were greeted by Ms Marquez after landing.

The Duke and Duchess stayed at the residence for half an hour, where the Vice President expressed her gratitude for the couple’s official visit.

Ms Marquez described the Sussexes’ trip as a “very special visit” aimed at building bridges and joining forces against cyberbullying, online violence and digital discrimination, as well as promoting women’s leadership in Colombia.

The quasi-royal tour, which bears many similarities to the schedule of an official royal visit abroad, is the Sussexes’ second this year, following their three-day visit to Nigeria at the invitation of the West African nation’s chief of defence staff.

Harper’s Bazaar magazine, which is covering the trip as the only forum for discussion, said Ms Marquez shared her personal admiration for Harry’s late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.

The vice president spoke at a press conference where she mentioned Diana’s “dream” of visiting the country.

Mrs. Marquez said: “I think the fact that Prince Harry is here today after his mother’s dream of visiting this country is an opportunity to show the best of our nation, to show who we Colombians are. We are a people who, in the midst of adversity, do everything possible to give the best of ourselves.”

During the chat, Ms Marquez said she shared the same ideals and goals as Harry and Meghan amid their campaign to make the digital world safer for children.
