Mike Tyson’s highly anticipated return to the ring is just days away, as the former world heavyweight champions prepare to take on Jake Paul.
Friday marks ‘Iron Mike’s’ first professional fight in 19 years and the 58-year-old has spent most of this year training hard in the gym for his return to the ring.
Spending more hours in the gym isn’t the only drastic change Tyson has made in preparation for the fight.
He also revealed that he drastically changed his diet and lifestyle before the historic fight, banning sex and cannabis from his usual routine.

Tyson’s camp has offered plenty of insight into the 58-year-old’s training plan ahead of his fight against Paul.
Iron Mike often shares clips of his rigorous training on his social media platforms showcasing his impressive speed, incredible power, and imposing physique.
And Tyson himself talked about what his training routine is really like.
Speaking during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tyson detailed what an average day entails for him leading up to the fight, revealing that he trains six hours a day with minimal breaks.
“I’m training very hard,” he told Kimmel.
‘I start at 11 (am) and I could leave the gym at 5 (pm).
“After I finish boxing, I get a massage for an hour and then I go straight into strength and conditioning.”
He also said FOX News: ‘I train every day, I take it seriously. It’s a whole day (of training), the process lasts all day.
Tyson revealed that he has been training six hours a day preparing for the fight.
His training includes pad work, hitting the punching bag and sparring.
“I get up in the morning and do road work, then I go to the gym at one and then I go to the strength and conditioning guy and then it all starts again.”
Another surprising factor that has played a vital role in his preparation for the unlikely fight is drugs.
Tyson confessed impulsive that psilocybin mushrooms have played an important role in his training sessions.
Psilocybin is a psychedelic compound found in more than 200 different species of mushrooms, including magic mushrooms, liberty cap, and azurescens.
“I have to take them when I train,” he said.
‘I always train with my mushrooms.
‘I train with mushrooms because I feel beautiful. “It takes me to heaven, baby,” she told Jake Paul’s brother, Logan.
However, Tyson revealed that he had given up a certain drug before his showdown with Paul, revealing that he had eliminated cannabis and sex from his life before the fight.
The 58-year-old confessed that he had given up cannabis before the fight.
The former world champion is a marijuana fan and has his own line of products
Speaking about his decision to banish cannabis and sex from his regular routine on The Damon Elliott Show in late April, Tyson said: “I haven’t smoked in two and a half weeks,” he said.
“And I haven’t had sex for two and a half weeks.”
The move is a big step for the champion boxer once referred to as ‘Kid Dynamite’ considering he is a marijuana lover and even has his own line of cannabis+ products.
He spoke more about his lifestyle change in an interview with Forbes Life published on April 26, 2024.
‘Right now, I am living my life in a disciplined way. It’s been six weeks without taking drugs or having sex.
“I haven’t done that since I was a little kid,” he said.
‘I hate that I can’t smoke, but I do it like I love it.
“I hate that I can’t sleep with my wife, but I do it like I love it,” he added.

The 58-year-old takes his professional comeback very seriously and it only shows in his diet.
In 2010, the legendary boxer revealed that he switched to a plant-based diet after years of meat, alcohol and drugs following his retirement in 2005.
Narration GQ Sports back in 2019 that ‘I don’t eat anything that has a mother and a father’. If you were created by a mother and a father, through any type of sexual relationship, I will not eat you.
“That means I only eat vegetables and stuff.”
But as he aims to return to the ring, Tyson abandoned his vegan lifestyle in favor of a meat-based one.
Speaking about his decision to return to a meat-based diet, Tyson told Joe Rogan: “I stopped (eating vegan food) because of training and because of the way I wanted my body to look and the strength I wanted to possess.” ‘
