TV chef Poh Ling Yeow has raved about a little-known eatery in Melbourne, saying it serves the best Thai food she’s ever had.

The 50-year-old foodie visited Pa Tong Thai Restaurant on Flinders Lane in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD while filming the final season of MasterChef.

Poh tipped Pa Tong as her favorite place to eat in Melbourne, saying it was the best Thai food she’s ever eaten in Australia.

The new judge said so Good food ordered the ‘memorable’ creeping wine omelette with a salty taste and enjoyed the Northern Thai dishes served with sticky rice.

‘Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and delicious food. The best Thai I’ve had in Australia!!!!’ she gushed on the restaurant’s Instagram page.

The split-level restaurant features hanging lanterns and vibrant blue walls peppered with framed photos reminiscent of an authentic Phuket diner.

Owners Boonruxsa Sangmanee and Masarat Bumrungpongsinchai, who go by Milky and Hally, have carefully curated a tasty menu that represents their childhood favorites and heritage, as well as Australian classics.

Guests are encouraged to order a variety of dishes inspired by regions across Thailand to enjoy a communal dining experience.

Apart from the standard pad thai, pad see ew and tom yum, there are a number of lesser-known Thai dishes that explode with flavor from whole deep-fried mackerel to Haw mok curry fish mousse cakes that come in a terracotta bowl.

It’s not just Poh who loves Pa Tong’s gourmet Thai offerings, saying each dish was “bursting with flavour”.
