- Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro go off injured against Arsenal in Los Angeles
- Erik ten Hag confirmed that both players will undergo tests on their injuries
Manchester United face an anxious wait for the results of tests carried out on Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro after both players left the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Hojlund put United ahead in the 10th minute but left the field five minutes later after collapsing with what appeared to be a thigh injury. Asked how he was feeling as he walked to the team bus after the match, Hojlund replied: “We’ll see.”
Yoro, who was making his second appearance since joining United in a £59million move from Lille, came off in the 33rd minute after receiving treatment on the pitch.
Coach Erik ten Hag said: “Of course, it’s too early and we have to wait more than 24 hours, then hopefully we’ll know more. We were especially careful with Leny, as he only did 50 per cent of the (training) sessions. He has to improve, but let’s stay positive and see what happens.”
Ten Hag was unhappy with Arsenal’s equaliser from Gabriel Jesus, who looked offside when he equalised in the 26th minute before Gabriel Martinelli scored a late winner.
Rasmus Hojlund scored early on but was forced to limp off the pitch a few minutes later with a hamstring injury.
New signing Leny Yoro also had to be substituted in the first half of United’s defeat to Arsenal.
Erik ten Hag has confirmed that both players will undergo tests to determine the severity of their injuries.
“I think it was a very good level for the third week of pre-season, from both sides, but in the first half I thought we were the better team,” added Ten Hag.
‘We scored a very good goal, with a very good pass from (Marcus) Rashford and then with a very good play from Hojlund and a very good finish. I’m very happy.
‘We also created some good chances and then conceded the goal that was offside.
“The second half was different. It was a mixed team and it was the first time they played together. We had a player who was playing full-back for the first time in his life (James Scanlon) and then you have to play against experienced Premier League players, that’s not easy. Overall, I think the team played a good game and we could have drawn this game.”
