A Texas Tech cheerleader went viral after hilariously colliding with an Arizona receiver

A male member of Texas Tech’s co-ed cheerleading program gained virality on social media for a funny moment during the Red Raiders’ victory over Arizona on Saturday.

In the fourth quarter of the game, the Wildcats were up 19-18 with five minutes left. After one play, Arizona wide receiver Devin Hyatt ran out of bounds and collided with the cheerleader.

The spirit squad member impressively stood up faster than the first-year player despite his protective gear. He then flamboyantly approached Hyatt, gesturing for him to stand before waving to the crowd, flexing his biceps and moving to the delight of the fans.

“A male cheerleader with a different build, the Chargers should give him TE shots,” said one user on X.

‘@TexasTechFB needs to give him a scholarship,’ wrote another.

“That cheerleader is probably twice as strong as the player who bumped into him,” a third suggested.

Despite being behind during the viral moment, the Red Raiders would secure a 28-22 victory late in the game.

The result led to jokes about how the cheerleader’s antics inspired Texas Tech’s comeback.

“Honestly, this is when the game changed,” one fan said.

“Look how we started winning after this,” noted a fifth.

Texas Tech’s Berhen Morton went 17 of 29 for 214 yards as the Red Raiders moved to 5-1 with the victory.

Fans took to social media to praise the spirit team member for overcoming the collision.
