An American teenager who disappeared after disembarking from a cruise ship following a stopover in a German port has been found.
Aydin Brown had been on the Caribbean Princess cruise ship with his grandmother, but left after the ship docked in Rostock-Warnemünde.
German police had been searching for the 14-year-old since Thursday morning, when he disappeared.
Photographs of the teenager had been circulated, as well as video frames from surveillance cameras showing him speaking to an unknown man.
In a statement, Princess Cruises thanked German authorities for finding the teenager, saying he was “safe and sound.”
Aydin Brown had been on the Caribbean Princess cruise ship with his grandmother, but left after it docked in Rostock-Warnemünde.
They said: ‘We are delighted that Aydin Brown has been found safe and well.
‘We extend our sincere thanks to the German authorities for their swift response and exceptional efforts to locate Aydin after he disembarked in Warnemünde last Thursday morning.
“We understand the distress this situation has caused and will continue to provide ongoing on-site support to the family during this difficult time.”
