A Sydney Lotto customer has issued an urgent warning to other winners after claiming a shop employee tried to steal her prize money from an instant Scratch-It.
An Eastern Sydney lottery winner has accused a shop employee of trying to cheat him out of his winnings, in a Facebook post shared on a local group.
“Please be very careful when checking your lottery tickets,” he warned.
‘Today I went to check my scratch-off lottery ticket and the seller told me I had won $15.
She said that when she asked for a receipt, the manager told her there was none available.
The winner then threatened to contact The Lott officials, at which point the store employee changed his story.
“He then told me that I had actually won $150. Please be very careful with these corner stores.”

“If you engage with this email, you are not talking to The Lott,” he warns. “It’s a scammer. They will likely ask for personal or banking information. Don’t provide any of this information.”
