Robbers shot a man and a driver opened fire on a car full of people in separate incidents minutes apart south of Brisbane.

The shootings occurred just half an hour apart in the neighboring suburbs of Logan on Thursday night, and a man was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Police said five people, including three teenagers, were in a car that was shot at in Logan Reserve.

Detective Sergeant Nicola Brown said an altercation broke out at around 7pm after another motorist drove erratically before pointing a gun at the car full of people.

“That driving behavior led to an incident in which an unknown man driving a silver Mitsubishi Lancer fired shots through the window of the victim’s vehicle,” he told reporters Friday.

Nobody was hurt.

About 40 minutes later, police said a 23-year-old man was shot in the neck after a group of people staged a violent robbery in the Logan area.

The group went to a Park Ridge property with a firearm and demanded property from the occupant, police said.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains stable with non-life-threatening injuries.

The group left with a small amount of items, Detective Senator Sergeant Brown said, “however, I don’t think they got away with what they intended to do as a result of the shooting.”

Police still do not have suspects or a motive for the robbery, he said.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact police.

“Having illegal firearms in the suburbs is simply not tolerated,” said Senator Sergeant Brown.

Police arrive at the scene of the robbery in Logan, south of Brisbane, on Friday.
