Latrell Mitchell’s agent has faced the cameras amid the white powder scandal that has rocked the NRL.

A photograph purporting to show Souths fullback Mitchell, 27, leaning over a table with an unknown white substance on it went viral over the weekend, prompting an investigation by the NRL’s Integrity Unit.

Mitchell has locked the doors of his Sydney home in the wake of the scandal but faced questioning from the NRL on Tuesday.

And amid the media storm, Mitchell’s adviser, Matt Rose, answered questions outside his property.

“Latrell is fine,” he told 7NEWS.

“Yes, I mean, at this stage, under NRL rules, he can’t make any comment.”

The photo is believed to have been taken in Dubbo last weekend, where Mitchell was helping run a women’s football clinic.

“Have you had a chance to speak to the integrity unit to explain yourself? That’s all happening right now,” Rose said.

“Once that’s finished, I’ll be able to talk to you then.”

Mitchell’s NSW Blues teammate Jarome Luai discussed the issue after training on Tuesday.

“I think it’s a pretty sensitive topic when you start talking about those things,” Luai said.

‘I think reflecting on it I just want to personally make sure that I’m doing the right thing and that I have a positive message for my audience.

“I wish him all the best. I’m sure he feels very sorry for what happened.”

Meanwhile, former NRL star Mitchell Pearce has claimed the Souths full-back is not the main culprit behind the alleged incident.

“I hope someone takes strong action against the person who is filming this stuff,” Pearce said on the Half-Time podcast.

‘It would be nice to know what the laws are on this because it’s nonsense. You’d hope it wasn’t his friend, but whoever was there doing that deserves major repercussions.

Matt Rose said the Souths gun will speak once the investigation has been concluded.

“The game needs to find out who these people are and take tough action against them. They should name them and shame them because these people get away with it and there are no repercussions.

‘Poor Latrell will put his hand up and say he did something wrong, but the other person who filmed him should be named and shamed and have their picture on the back page.

‘It’s a horrible feeling to be Latrell and for all this to come to light.

‘I feel sorry for him, but at the same time, if he did this he put himself in an average position, right?

“It’s not good for the game and it’s not good for Latrell. Nobody knows what that white substance was so it’s hard to comment on it, but it’s not good for the game and it’s not good for Souths with the year they’ve had.”
