Brits couldn’t get pop princess Kylie Minogue out of their heads this summer as her sparkling wine flew off the shelves.

Sales of the Australian singer’s drinks hit £9.6m, up 25 per cent on sales between June and August last year, when Kylie was celebrating her return to the charts with Padam Padam.

And this year, despite the bad weather in the UK, their wine sales have been going from strength to strength.

This includes sales in supermarkets and discount stores such as B&M.

“Kylie’s brand has grown steadily over the past few years, even at a time when alcohol sales have struggled,” said Tom Oakton, an analyst at consumer data firm NIQ.

The singer shared a video of herself this week at a drinks industry event in Provence, southern France.

This is one of the regions where Kylie makes her wines.

But the distributor is Benchmark in London. Provence-inspired roses are all the rage right now, and Kylie’s version is served at chic spots like Annabel’s, Louie London and Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle Hotel in New York.

Georgie Haughton, head of wine buying at Sainsbury’s, said Kylie’s products were performing well.

“It is a call to all generations,” he said.
