Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons arrived at the Met Gala in an interesting outfit, and the Internet savaged him for being too abrupt.
Simmons arrived at this year’s spring gala, themed ‘Sleeping Beauties: Fashion Awakening’.
Simmons donned a jacket and coat with plaid designs on top, accented with rings, a watch, and a briefcase that had a huge watch.
Sports fans raved about Simmons for his style choice, especially after the Nets star only played in 15 games this NBA season. He missed the first 38 games of the season, then played until early March before being ruled out for the rest of the season with a pinched nerve in his lower back.
Social media took special notice of the watch briefcase, with many laughing at Simmons for missing too much time in recent seasons.

He was savagely criticized on social media for the theme of his outfit after only playing 15 games.
“Ben Simmons spent more time on the Met Gala red carpet than on the court this year,” the official Barstool Sports account wrote.
The official account of third-party ticket provider TickPick wrote: “Bag clocked in more than Ben this season.”
“Wearing a watch when you don’t have any playing time this season is crazy,” one Twitter user wrote.
Another person wrote: “Next year they will pay me 50 million to just sit… Biggest robbery in US history…”
‘He doesn’t appear at NBA games but he comes to the Met Gala,’ said another user.
A different user wrote: “Bro he does everything but play basketball.”
Notably, Simmons missed the entire 2021-22 season to be traded out of Philadelphia, but by the time he arrived in Brooklyn, he was too injured to play.
Of the 196 games Simmons has been a member of the Nets, he has only played in 57 contests.
