Jason Kelce has hilariously revealed how he tried – and failed – to get his two eldest children to play one of their favorite sports, only to have them cry all the time.

While Jason is, of course, an NFL legend, it was a different sport he tried to get Wyatt, 4, and Elliotte, 3, to play this summer.

Presumably realizing they’re too young to put on pads, Jason attempted to rekindle his love for another of his childhood favorites, ice hockey, before quickly realizing he was fighting a losing battle.

In the latest episode of New Heights alongside his brother Travis, Jason began, “We gotta get back on the ice, we gotta do it,” before launching into his hilarious story.

“Dude, I tried to take Wyatt and Elliotte to ice skating lessons and it didn’t go well,” he revealed. “They’re still too young, they weren’t ready for it… and they cried all the time.”

—Did you get on skates when you were six years old? Seven years old?’ -Travis responded.

“Seven was the first time I went out,” Jason revealed, before adding, “You were five!”

But even though Travis was only a year older than Jason’s daughter Wyatt, he too had a similar reaction the first time his father Ed forced him onto the ice.

“I was terrified, I was crying on the bench,” Travis admitted. ‘It was lava in my mind, I thought I was going to die. Dad picked me up and threw me on the ice!’

Things got better from there and now both Travis and Jason remember ice hockey as one of their first passions growing up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

In the end, it was the National Football League that captured their hearts, and they both had hugely successful careers and won the Super Bowl.
