James Maddison was left out of England’s final 26-man squad for Euro 2024.
As reported by The AthleticTottenham star Maddison will not be part of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the tournament in Germany.
Maddison has seven caps for England, the most recent of which came as a substitute in a 3-0 friendly win against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday.
However, the 27-year-old will be one of the players who will miss the cut for the final squad, which will be announced on Saturday.
After making his debut for England against Montenegro in 2019, Maddison had to wait until 2023 before appearing again for the Three Lions.
Maddison featured in three Euro 2024 qualifiers, often starting on the left wing for Southgate’s side.
Primarily an attacking midfielder, he will not travel to Germany despite his versatility.
England will face Iceland at Wembley on Friday in their final warm-up match before Euro 2024.
