A single mother who went viral on TikTok for sobbing while baking a birthday cake claims her abused ex-husband abused her and accuses her of faking cancer.
Elizabeth Teckenbrock, 29, shared a video of herself crying last week while complaining about being a single mother and having to make her own birthday cake. TikTok took the internet by storm, garnering 58 million views and a ton of comments, both positive and negative.
However, shortly after the clip went viral, it was revealed that the single mother had a dark past. Her ex-husband, Andrew Cormier, 37, said he actually has full custody of her two daughters and that she barely sees them and “goes out all the time.”
Cormier told DailyMail.com that his ex-wife allegedly faked having cancer and claims he abandoned the family when it “came to light.”
Several now-deleted TikToks were uploaded in 2021 that appeared to show Teckenbrock asking for support in his fight against cancer, and Cormier said he started a GoFundMe to raise money while saying he was suffering from “cancer.”
Elizabeth Teckenbrock, 29, who went viral on TikTok for sobbing while baking a birthday cake, claims her abused ex-husband abused her and accuses her of faking cancer.
“Can we start a prayer chain, pray to overcome the 20% odds and get through chemotherapy?” one of the TikToks read, along with the hashtag #CormierStrong, as Teckenbrock shared her ex-husband’s last name at the time.
Another TikTok that appears to feature Teckenbrock along with the hashtag shows the single mother thanking everyone who reached out and prayed for her during her ‘fight with lymphoma.’
When asked why he allegedly lied and what happened to the money, Cormier said he didn’t know why his ex-wife didn’t tell the truth or what she did with the funds raised.
According to Cormier, Teckenbrock accused him of physical abuse. “He’s made some really bad accusations against me and I’m really worried about my children,” he told DailyMail.com.
On Friday, Cormier made a series of explosive claims, saying she has full custody of her two daughters whom she barely sees because she “goes out all the time.”
Cormier also revealed that Teckenbrock’s alleged abuse allegations only began after she left the family and that she began filing warrants when he approached her family to tell them “what he was doing.”
Teckenbrock declined to speak about the ongoing drama between her and her ex-husband.
“I’m drowning from all the emotional abuse, from all the journalists, from my ex-husband,” she said.
When asked about the false cancer accusations, Teckenbrock did not respond.
Teckenbrock accused Cormier of abuse the day after he made a series of explosive accusations, saying he was “extremely abusive” before admitting that she does not have custody of their children but does see them.
Teckenbrock was arrested in August 2023 for third-degree grand larceny and cash or deposit items with intent to defraud.
“Andrew is extremely, extremely abusive and has always been extremely abusive,” she said.
‘First I’ll start with custody, okay, because that’s what we’re all talking about. I see my children, I see all my children.
‘I’m the one who organizes your birthday parties. I’m the one who puts them to bed. I’m the one who does everything until he pushes them away.’
Despite the serious allegations against her, Teckenbrock uploaded a light-hearted video of her dancing in her kitchen in a pink swimsuit to a Drake song.
‘I to myself. Because I really went through that but I still walk a delicate path. Somehow I remain genuine and wear my heart on my sleeve. And no one can take that away from me,” said the text of the video.
Elizabeth Teckenbrock, 29, shared a bizarre video of herself dancing on TikTok despite her ongoing scandal.
Meanwhile, the background lyrics read, “I’m so proud of you.” It all adds up, you’ve been through hell and back. That’s why you’re so fucking bad.
Teckenbrock briefly deleted her TikTok account, along with all of her other social media pages, last week following backlash over her crying video.
He has now returned to TikTok and is actively posting videos non-stop defending himself in strange ways. He also asked his followers not to harass Cormier.
More recently, the sobbing single mother uploaded a video of herself unloading the dishwasher with a voiceover saying that the most important thing about the past few days is that “your past doesn’t define you.”
She also posted a video of her “explaining herself” now that she “has a lot of followers.” In the five-minute video, she said that she knows that she is a good mother and that she dedicates her life and her time to them, regardless of her mistakes.
‘I will proudly say, without a doubt, I know who I am. I know that I am a good mother, that I love my children.
‘I have made mistakes in my life, yes, I was arrested, that is not something I have even remotely denied. In fact, I’ve referred to that before on my page.’
“I was 16 years old when I had my son,” she revealed, adding that from that moment on she was a single mother, but that she “didn’t hate his father.”
Cormier revealed that his ex-wife was previously arrested for fraud. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Teckenbrock was arrested in August 2023 for grand larceny in the third degree and cash or articles of deposit with intent to defraud.
‘I went through some pretty bad mental things when I was about a year away from getting divorced. And then when I left, even worse, I went out all the time, I made a lot of mistakes,’ she added, revealing that she was arrested for ‘writing a bad check.’
Since her mistakes, the single mother said she has tried to “rebuild her life” while battling mental illness.
“It’s really hard to get out of something like that, especially when you’re getting knocked down at the same time.”
Teckenbrock added that “despite her mistakes,” she “dedicates” her time to her children.
‘I don’t hate his father at all, but I was a single mother at the age of 16. “I’ve been struggling since I’m emotionally distraught, I guess you would say,” she said as she cried.
Shortly before posting her three most recent videos, she posted a dramatic update with the caption, “right now I’m terrified for my life and my children’s well-being.” I thank everyone who has supported me. But I’m done posting.’
