Most travelers would opt for a window seat to take in the view or an aisle seat, where there is more room to stretch their legs.

However, travel writer John Burfitt from Sydney, Australia, has revealed why you should always choose the worst seat on a plane.

He claimed that the window seat at the back of the plane, near the bathrooms, is actually the best seat in the house.

Despite its proximity to the bathroom and inevitably being the last person off the plane, the position apparently has its perks.

Writing for escape.com.au He said: “It’s impossible for someone to kick you in the back of your seat. You’re hidden so you’ll never get hit by a flight attendant with a cart, or bumped into by passing passengers or grabbed by your seat as they pass by. And when you want to sleep, lean in the corner against the wall and fall asleep.”

The travel expert revealed that he had previously endured a few flights where someone kicked the back of his seat for the entire journey as he tried to get “comfortable”.

This also happened on another occasion a few months later and after that, he swore never to sit in front of anyone again.

When he noticed that the last seat on the plane had a wall behind it, he decided that would be his go-to option from now on.

He added: “I have happily paid extra to reserve the corner seat in the last row of the cabin and have sometimes even changed my travel dates to secure it.”

John went on to say that people often think the back seat can’t recline because there’s a wall behind it, but he claimed that it actually can.

He also said that many people worry about hearing the toilet flush, but he came up with a solution: “Have you ever heard of earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones?”

Meanwhile, for those worried about feeling “stuck,” John said, “I enjoy being away from traffic, so that’s fine with me.”

The seating position may not suit everyone, but John revealed he’s happy with that because he doesn’t want the location to be “in high demand.”

This comes after another travel expert revealed some of his favorite airplane hacks for passengers boarding long-haul flights.

Lindsay Silberman, who splits her time between New York and Florida, took to TikTok to share her top tips for those on the go.

She recommended having a “bag within a bag” for necessities, as well as recommending compression stockings, electrolyte packets, face and lip masks, and noise-cancelling headphones.

The content creator, who has visited 63 countries, was quickly inundated with praise from other social media users.

In the clip, which has so far been viewed more than 5.2 million times, Lindsay quickly began listing off her list of top tips.

While demonstrating his ability with his own luggage, he began: ‘I like to call this the bag within the bag.’

‘I carry a duffel bag as a personal item and inside I keep a pouch with everything I need close at hand so I don’t have to keep digging through my bag every time I need something.’

She continued: “If you’re doing a long-haul flight and you’re not wearing compression stockings, you’re doing it wrong. Personally, I don’t like the aesthetics of the ankle and that’s why I love compression stockings.”

The enthusiastic traveler then shared another hack as she poured electrolyte powder into her water bottle.

But Lindsay didn’t stop there with her ideas as she then brought out her face and lip masks.

The content creator said she follows her beauty routine – which also includes a lip mask – even in economy class, adding that she doesn’t care what other passengers might think.
